So last weekend's List of Doom, while good for the floors and the leftovers and the odd fleeting sense of satisfaction, left me with an energy deficit for the entire week that was more than a little counterproductive. Today's list, therefore, is considerably shorter and less...um, what's the phrase?...right: suicidally overambitious, that would be ( Read more... )

Went out for dim sum lunch, but it's too hot and steamy to do yard work. So am finishing up the toe on the second sock of a pair, watching 'Mystery' and keeping an eye on Jenny on the upper bookcase.

And - re our last conversation - how do you keep 55 cases straight in your mind?

Well, yesterday I worked at the store on my day off from the Real Job. It wasn't a vacation day, it was a sort of freebie day. Today I sang a mass at Mission for a priest who was celebrating his 50th anniversary as such. It took waaaaay too long and since the heat index is hovering around 100 today it was waaaaay too hot. I'm at the store now and tonight I am going home to sit in front of the AC and relax with the animules and do some house cleaning. Tomorrow is a sleep day. One of the last before working on Sundays becomes normal again.

Good luck with those cases. As long as working on the weekends doesn't become a normal thing getting some work cleared away should be a good thing.

Sorry to hear you're swamped, but IMNSHO, work is still easier than school. :)

I just got back from Lowe's with the material needed to build the deck on my gazebo. If I knew what I was doing it would probably be a 1/2 day project, but I suspect it will be more like 2 days.

I'll be going into work myself in a little bit. There's a part of me that feels a bit guilty for choosing to sit out Water Communion at my church this morning, but I promised myself when I decided to join a church in the first place that I wasn't going to let it other people dictate the terms of my participation (in terms of how much/little my involvement would be).

And yeah, I'm annoyed that I'm having to punt my creative/social life for yet another weekend due to the logistics of this particular project (there's a database update tomorrow that has the potential of hosing several days' worth of earlier work if I don't wrap up the current stage of production by tonight, because of continuity issues). But I'm hopeful I can sneak in a day off later in the week, which is more than I could say for the first seven months of this year. :-)

Safe travels, dear, and strength for everything. I admire the work you're doing.
