I have come to realize that it's not kids that I've disliked so all these years so much as horrible parents. My school and after-school jobs have been a blast so far, mostly. Yet bumping into obnoxious, undisciplined children outside of school continues to be a source of severe irritation ( Read more... )

Actually, I haven't seen any of the Tina Fey spoofs, as I've been out of town the last few weekends and have been too lazy to 'tube it. I need to get on that--I hear it's been "spot-on."

Yeah to echo my life partner I hope you've been watching SNL's take on Palin. I love it. Also Sharon Osborne had a fantastic rant on the Ellen show about it.

Though I haven't seen any of the SNL sketches, I've been rocking the Daily Show pretty hard. Jon Stewart skewers her pretty much every night. It's really helped soothe the outrage knowing that there are intelligent people out there who don't consider her any more of a legitimate candidate than I do.

It's because she drops her g's in -ing endings, isn't it? I am mystified by Palin, yet I think she's hilarious. (not in a positive way)

The abbreviated suffixes are a big part of it, yeah. Her entire faux-folksy, just-a-hockey-mom schtick drives me up the wall, and that's not even getting into her abhorrent policy positions or questionable record.

She mentioned "Joe Six-Pack" during her debate, and it made me think of Mr. Sanden and Joe Snuffy. I imagine that esteemed gentleman has some delightful observations (or should I say "questions and comments"?) to make these days. :-D
