Tomorrow morning (today, for most of you reading this), C'mere is going to the vet for oral surgery. I'm terrified. The vet's great, the staff cares, and we've done blood tests to make sure she won't react to the anesthesia, but I keep worrying that she's going to fall asleep and not wake up. Provided she does wake up, she's going to be scared ( Read more... )

Poor kitty! We'll be thinking of her, and you.
What's the new job? Does it involve diapers again?
Love you!

I hope all goes well for your kitty. I know how much your girls mean to you.

And I'm right there with you on the job thing. I'll soon be applying for a position as a telephone fundraiser for ISU because it pays over $9/hr...I hate calling jobs. They're absolutely soul sucking jobs that make me hate myself. But that's really all that's available right now...

Well if the place is as great as you describe, they will probably be sure to give her good post-surgical pain management. I suppose it is too late to say this but you could tell them that's what you want. Usually before anesthesia an opiate "premed" is given intramuscularly that will calm the animal and last long enough to provide post surgical pain relief.

What are we getting done, some tooth extractions? I'm glad you love your kitties enough to provide proper dental care! So many people consider this a non-issue in animals- just another money maker for the vet. It really sounds like you are doing everything right. I would worry too but I'm sure everything will be okay! Let us know.
