aikido/cramps

So I keep getting this really random toe cramp at Aikido. Basically, it feels like the middle and ring toes of my left foot are trying to pull themselves off of my foot in the general direction of the pinky toe. Really not pleasant. A bit of quick Googling turned up an informative article.

Any of potassium, calcium, magnesium, or sodium deficiencies can, according to the article, produce cramps. You might want to think about taking a daily multi-vitamin, if you don't already. Also, dehydration can have similar effects, so diuretics like caffeine won't help, but should be easily managed with a moderate amount of water.

As far as Aikido is concerned, I remember my sensei as being very careful about praise and encouragement, so I would take that as a good sign. Glad to hear you're enjoying it.
