Turtle power

Ricky's ok.
Well, not great, but ok.
Tried to eat the vet.
That made me laugh.
Ricky needs a proper reptile light for starters, and possibly a bigger tank(!) for better comfort.
No infections, but the light is a big thing.  Apparently it's the reason behind Ricky's marathon skin shed, which is making me clean the tank more often, because the filter ( Read more... )

make a project out of it! create a floor-to-ceiling wall unit for the terrarium so that it is a few feet off the ground and flush with the cabinets. then the cats can't "get on top" of the terrarium. just put a cabinet flap above the terrarium, so you can open it and feed ricky, and ideally, place the terrarium on a sliding platform, to make it easy to slide it out and clean it.

Another *15* years? Wow... hate to say it, but that turtle will likely have been there before your present cats, and afterwards... Dude, if you can keep a turtle alive for that long, you'd be great with a parrot (80+ years, anyone? )
