I'm trying to remember which series had the 'cross country cravats'; when Bill Bailey, Sean Lock and Alan were taking the mick' out of Stephen for going to a tailors...I think it was series B. I recall that being the funniest :P

That was Series B, Episode 1: "Would sir like to wear a cravat on the cross-country run?" B is my favorite series, and my favorite episode is 3, where Rich, Phill, and Clive were the guests and they talked a lot about bombs.

As much as it pains me to say it (I'm one of those 'everything MUST be done chronologically!'-people), if he's not seen it before, probably series C. It has the Peter Cushing song on it. *has all three DVDs*

My favourite ever episode is in series B so I'd recommend series B or C. Some of the best jokes ever on the show are in those series.
