If you're going over there anyway, might as well do it while you're already paying for the overseas flight. Would you ever take a trip just to do that? But then, I'm the person you take shopping when the only advice you want to hear is "Buy it!" ;)

Were I ever to feel that I could just take a trip for the sake of taking a trip, Amsterdam would definitely be a place that I would go.

I ultimately decided not to add the extra day, much as I wanted to. Seemed like I'd get more grief over it at home than it would really be worth.

(I, also, am a "Buy it!" advice giver. :)
