a microscopic fungus?

i haven't been able to identify the species.... this is possibly the fungus's spores, and it was found growing on a piece of a wasps' nest (my boyfriend found it outside the house, here in NC)

Are you alarmed?

I like wasps. They eat all kinds of nasty critters, including mosquitos.

I have an LJ friend who is absolutely terrified of bees and wasps, even the mention of bees and wasps.

To my credit, I only torment him occasionally :).

i googled my BUTT off last night, and found a prof. at UNC who has a background in mycology, so i hope he can help me figure out what species of fungus this is <3 :)
