Should I go to ICC or not?
This is a public post since I need my non-LJ friends (which is most of the people I know) to weigh in on my decision.
As ICC is quickly approaching, I need to make a decision...should I go to Detroit or should I just stay home? I've already taken the time off, so if I don't go, Joe definitely will and I'll just stay with my parents for a few days. ( Read more... )

That said, I have skipped ICC for the last few years because of being short on cash. It's ok not to go, especially if your primary character can't be played there and you'd prefer to play her.
On the other hand, it's ok to go to ICC just to see specific people and as a vacation of sorts. I've met people at conventions in the past who didn't play at all, but went to room parties and hung out at the pool all weekend. This heavily depends on the quality of the hotel, however.
