I really hate how most shows no longer have title sequences or theme songs. This is a lost art, people, and it's no accident that many fanvids are an attempt to rectify this very injustice. (Or else do wacky mashups, as even I've been known to do.) I think probably my favorite recent title sequence has to be Firefly, though. All of Whedon's shows are probably the last vestiges of this dying art, and with Firefly he had the perfect mix: good theme song, action-y clips of the show, plus pretty font and neat little sepia-toned still pictures. Excellent stuff.

I mean, seriously, how is that not just beyond gorgeous? I'm also reminded of how beautiful all the music for that show was, the country-western-folk-Asian mélange of pure awesomeness. *sigh*
