Waste Not, Want Not

This is nicced from a random site.  We don't use Saran Wrap a lot, or ziplock bags, but we are guilty of paper towels although we have been trying to move towards dishtowels...  This article is helping me cut those wastables out =).

I have to say that I am guilty of using all three, but none of them in abundance. The hardest thing I may have to get over is the paper towels, since I am very much for using something to clean up a filthy, often germy mess once and throwing it away. I see they make flushable, biodegradable wipes though, which I think is a little better.

OTOH we also recycle and compost aggressively and produce very little actual trash, so I hope we haven't been killing the Earth quite as quickly as we could have!

Thanks for posting this! I saw a couple of people today talking about never buying paper towels again and I see where that statement might have come from. :)

I'm no saint, we have all three in our house, too. We just don't use ziplock bags or Saran Wrap much. Paper towels, tho....the hubster is addicted to them. It's been a process trying to move away from them - lol.

I am planning on composting when the house is done - we do not do it yet. Wilhelm thinks it is beyond weird and is afraid it's going to smell and bring bugs...

Your welcome! I'm glad other people are getting the good out of it like I have. I never knew about many of those substitutes - I will be switching out to cooler and more recyclable things, as well =).
