Toby Cameron?aprilp_katjeAugust 28 2006, 00:37:16 UTC
I've been doing some Toby posts, but someone else posted as her as well, in the comments to the most recent entry. I'm not sure if we're going to be doing assigned characters, and if so, who will be Toby?

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this. I had to think about it.
I've decided to leave it open for now. I really don't know who all is participating in the comments on the Mary Worth blog. I think Howard does a lot of the posts, but I'm not sure. I do know that some of the posters are not from our usual crowd--they found me because of the Comics Curmudgeon. I feel like I don't want to be reminding newcomers of our old-timer ways vis-a-vis assigned characters.
This might change in the long-run, though, especially if I keep doing Mary after the Aldo Stalker storyline is over.

I have been doing Aldo Kelrast and of course my fave, Dennie Worth. No others.
Researching ancient Mary Worth plotlines for Dennie has been quite enjoyable. It has caused me to realize for certain that the old "Apple Mary is not the same as Mary Worth" story is complete baloney, because...{drumroll} Dennie continued to appear as a character when the strip changed names to Mary Worth.
The Original Toby Cameronaprilp_katjeSeptember 24 2006, 12:09:16 UTC
I couldn't resist posting as "The Original Toby Cameron" since "The Real Victoria 'Toby' Cameron" was getting into such a battle with the other "Victoria 'Toby' Cameron." Please feel free to delete those two posts of mine if you feel it's warranted. :)

qnjones,
Shades of Gerald. I really enjoyed your interpretation of the latest Mary Worth strip wanting to kill Toby over Aldo. That's what it looked like to me too. I think Mary could take her.

Dennie Worth's post is almost quoted verbatim from the Mary Worth biographical information I have found, which appears to be more accurate than the King Features version of Mary Worth history.

Was that the encyclopedia entry? I couldn't help wondering whether there are actual strips to back up some of the claims in that article, as I've never seen any references elsewhere to a son named Slim. Plus the writer of the article never seems to acknowledge that MW lives in California now rather than Greenwich Village. It makes me suspect the article itself might be a form of fanfic?

I'm glad you've got readers from CC, because I know they do a lot of MW snarking over there!

I'm pissed off about comments right now, but not for this reason--someone impersonated me in comments on my next to last entry, and that is so uncube.
