Five hours later, they were standing in front of the airport's arrival gate. Junhyung yawned as he rubbed his shoulders, which became sore from cleaning the house. Next to him was Kikwang who was jumping up and down excitedly. Hyunseung exchanged glances with Doojoon, implying that they were embarrassed with how Kikwang was acting at the moment.

"Where are they?" Kikwang asked in a high-pitched tone.

"Calm down, will ya?" Junhyung nudged him in the ribs so he would shut up.

Doojoon pointed at the flight schedules. "New York, landed. They won't take long to come out."

"I hope the customs won't hold them up," Hyunseung commented, twirling a rubber band around his finger.

The four boys had prepared a special welcome back party at home. Doojoon had bought a giant strawberry cake, balloons and colorful banners. Junhyung had made sure that Kikwang didn't miss a spot when he was sweeping and mopping, while Hyunseung helped put things back into place. They couldn't wait--they knew Dongwoon and Yoseob would like it.

As the gate opened, their heads quickly snapped to see who it was.

---

The next morning, he got up and found the house empty. It was not unusual--in fact, it happened everyday. Drinking his coffee alone, he seemed to get used to the fact that he had no one for company.

It was different back then.

He did not have an appetite for breakfast--one of the many things he had lost since a year ago. He had missed the laughter and voices which filled the dining room. The six of them, eating and enjoying their conversations.

Like a family.

Without finishing his coffee, he decided to take a walk in the park. Perhaps the cool morning breeze would help him relax a little. As he walked out of the house, he saw his neighbors talking on the next door porch. He nodded slightly to the two old men, who grinned and waved back in response. Since it was only 8 in the morning, not many people were out on the streets. Some familiar faces either walked their dog or jogged, alone or in a group. Red autumn leaves filled the roads, resembling messy blood-red patterns.

The park was almost empty. Normally there would be a few senior citizens hanging around, but not this time. He made his way to the playground, figuring there would be no one he had to waste his time talking to.

He was wrong.

There the other person was, sitting on the swings, looking down on the sand.

He approached the person quietly.

The other noticed his presence and looked up.

He was surprised.

"You."

"So, how was New York?"

Hyunseung turned to Dongwoon and Yoseob. The maknae responded with a satisfied smile, while the latter held both of his thumbs up. "It was the best!" His cheeks were red and he smiled brightly. "We ate so much! New York is amazing, it truly never sleeps! We even found ourselves waking up at 4AM and going out of the inn to get pizza!"

"Good for you," Junhyung piped up. "I hope your cholesterol level is doing fine."

Yoseob stuck out a tongue at him. "I don't care." Then he looked at Kikwang. "Did you gain more muscle? You look a bit more buff than the last time I saw you."

Kikwang grinned. "That's right. I'm pretty fine staying in this country, as long as there's gym nearby."

Dongwoon looked at the oldest, who was concentrating on the road. He spoke up quietly, "Hyung."

Doojoon looked at him from the rearview mirror. "Yeah?"

The maknae exchanged worried looks with Yoseob, who decided to break the ice. "So, how have you been?"

Before Doojoon could respond, Junhyung butted in. "Look, can we cut the crap now? The three of you have been friends, like, forever. Let's shake on it."

Doojoon sighed. He pressed the brakes as the light turned red. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry for behaving like a jerk these few days--"

"Weeks," Hyunseung corrected.

Doojoon frowned. "Okay, a few weeks. I know I should've been happy for you guys for winning the trip."

Yoseob's face softened. Dongwoon seemed relieved. He patted the oldest on the shoulder. "We're sorry too, hyung, about your birthday and all. We didn't really mean it."

"I know you guys wouldn't be that mean," Doojoon said, his voice calm and forgiving. "Anyway, wait 'till you guys get home."

Yoseob sat up straight. "Huh? What is it?"

Hyunseung smiled. "Let's just say we planned a little something."

"A party?" Yoseob asked, sounding excited.

Junhyung smirked. "You'll see." Next to him, Kikwang was looking out of the window, but he could tell that the younger boy was smiling.

"Did you guys get anything for us?" Doojoon asked.

The maknae and Yoseob gave meaningful smiles. "You'll see."

Junhyung looked at the other five. How he wished that they could stay together like this. If only the time could stop.

It was not long before a truck was heading their way.

They screamed. Doojoon tried to swerve to the next lane.

Then everything went white.

The guy on the swing smiled at him. "Hello."

Instead of answering back, he sat on the swing next to the guy.

"You're out pretty early," the other said, looking at him with sparkling eyes.

He did not respond.

"I love coming out here in the mornings," the other continued to talk despite getting no replies. "The park is just beautiful, you know?"

He had to say something. "I-I think so, too."

The other seemed surprised, not expecting an answer. "You really think so?" His lips curved into a wide smile, then tilted his head, "I've never seen you around here before. Are you new?"

Yes, you have.

He shook his head. "I'm just... a home person, I guess," came the faint reply.

The other nodded. "Oh, I see. So, what's your name?"

"Are you fucking kidding me?"

Junhyung grabbed the doctor by the collar, his eyes filled with fury and panic. His close friend and hyung, Seungho, held him back.

"Junhyung!" Seungho tried to calm him down.

"What did you mean by anterograde and retrograde amnesia?" Junhyung asked, still not letting go.

The doctor's face seemed anxious. "I'm afraid that's how we can conclude about his condition right now."

"So he's just going to forget everything, yeah?" Junhyung raised his voice.

"Well, not everything--technically. That means he's going to forget the things that happened prior to the accident and start each day with a new set of memories," the doctor said softly, fixing his glasses.

Junhyung let go of the doctor, staggering backwards. He leaned on the wall, clutching his head with both hands. Seungho embraced him in a tight, teary hug. Doojoon was sitting on the bench next to him, his left arm and head covered in bandages.

The crash had happened so suddenly. The truck's driver, who had been drunk, was found dead on the spot. Doojoon hurt his arm and received scars on his head. Junhyung, who had been sitting in the middle, was safe, but suffered from minor scratches on his forehead and legs. Yoseob and Hyunseung's conditions were critical. And as for Kikwang and Dongwoon, who sat next to the windows, died before they reached the hospital due to brain haemorrhage and internal bleeding, caused by the hard collision and broken glass pieces.

Things were never the same since that day.

"I'm..." He paused, looking at the other, who had an expectant look on his face.

If only I could turn back the time.

"I'm Doojoon. Yoon Doojoon."

The other smiled. "That's a cool name." He took out his hand for a shake. "I'm Yang Yoseob."
