Dress code at weddings?

Am I allowed to wear white/creme at a wedding? Or is this a faux pas?

from the books that i've read, it's considered a big faux pas. stick to the green girl! you'd look nice in it.

I know... but I'm trying to save money and I like the way my creme dress looks... remember? You said it gave me ass... haha...

Oh well. I'll think on it. If I find something on time and reasonable I'll buy it. If not, I'll have to decide to wear my killer creme or my plain black ones... =(
