I recently bought two books for the second time because I missed them after lending them to friends.  One is "Animals in Translation", which is a book about animals written by an autistic woman with lots of experience with animals and some interesting insights.

I just bought the Boston Sunday Globe for the first time. Goddam smooth sales people, catching me when I'm trying to get into a packed diner...

$2.50 just for the sunday comics. I ain't gonna read nothing else. You awake yet?

i just woke up! and i'm pretty sure you can buy those for $.50, and in many places for free.
