As said by my wonderfully intelligent cousin, Eric, I have decided to post so I don't forget a single moment from the best night of my life. Oh, by the way, this post in no way does last night justice.
Well, I will start at the beginning...
On Friday night, Madeleine and I went to secretly cut our hair...unfortunately, I couldn't keep that secret and told everyone that I was cutting my hair off, but I didn't say anything about Madeleine's!
;oD
So our hair looked awesome and of course we had to keep tradition and eat at Quizno's which made me late to the baseball game. It's okay though cuz I had a "dentist appointment."
Saturday, I wanted to sleep in, but instead I ended up waking up at about 7:30. Madeleine and I went to Target to get some last minute Prom/Spring Bling 05 things with our hair up so no one would see what it looked like until prom. We are smart kids because we saw Laura and Kelly there. Well, we got everything, except for cameras...woops. It's okay though cuz we got them later. I dropped Madeleine off at her house and headed back home. I figured out how to do my hair and started getting ready.
Cody picked me up in the Mercedes and we headed over to Nina's house to get in the limo. We pulled up and saw the stretch hummer and...a motor-home? Well it turns out that the "motor-home" was the coach. Well, we went inside and saw everybody. Then pictures began. Okay, you know how many pictures are taken of you and your date when they pick you up at your house? Well think of that, but magnified because there were at least six sets of parents taking pictures. I felt like I was on the red carpet, which was appropriate because that was our prom theme. We walked outside and took more pictures in front of the stretch hummer. Cody wasn't comfortable, so I told him that he didn't have to ride in the limo, or the RV. I ended up riding in the RV, cuz even though the outside looked a little funky, the inside was so freakin' awesome! It looked like one of those cars in the rappers' music videos. There were lights under the seats and on the ceiling that kept changing colors. There were champagne glass holders and ice buckets for the champagne bottles. Well, my friends got a little over zealous and drank up the bottles before we left Nina's, so they had a brilliant idea...an alcohol stop! Jessica pushed a button and the partition between us and the driver rolled down. They asked the driver to buy and he said to write down what we wanted and he would get it. They bought so much alcohol!
Everyone but Marcus and I was totally buzzing when we got to prom, because the driver drove around to give them time to finish the alcohol. I started dancing with my friends and then a circle gathered and I knew what it was. Todd told me that some of the guys had choreographed a dance to Smooth Criminal, so I pushed my way to the front of the circle to watch. It was so awesome! I loved it! Marcus is the best dancer that I have ever seen! It was so crazy good! Well, we left prom at ten, before coronation. I wasn't too happy with that, but the limo was leaving so I went. On the way back to Nina's, the girls went in the coach and the guys went in the stretch Hummer. Let's just say that it got a little crazy...I was a tad overwhelmed, but everyone else was having a good time and it was a short drive. Cody picked me up at Nina's and then dropped me off at my house. I got ready and then Houston and the Excursion crew came to pick me up. Let's just say, when they pulled up, I got the most cat calls from girls than I have had in my entire life!
We showed up at the party and I did my rounds, but mostly I hung out with Marcus, Todd, and Rene. Marcus is my no-drinking buddy. I left that party getting tons of hugs and a few kisses (granted they were on the cheek, but none the less kisses!) from some extremely beautiful boys! So many people complemented me and it made me feel great! I had such an awesome time! Spring Bling 05 was the coolest thing ever! We left at around two and headed to IHOP. It was there where Houston confessed to his syrup fetish. Sorry to break it to you, but I knew it all along...We stayed there for a while and then everyone got dropped off at around 3:30. I stayed awake for about thirty minutes after that just reflecting on everything that happened. I love my friends so much. I am going to miss seeing them everyday.
So prom is over and I am about to graduate...No more highschool...My life will never be the same, but I think that I am ready for it. We'll see. These next couple of months will be the most chaotic of my entire life, but I know that people that love me will be close and ready to help me through whatever comes my way. I'm not scared, I'm just sad because these are my last few days with my friends. I will always remember them and they will hold a special place in my heart.
Corny yes, but also extremely appropriate
These are the lyrics to one of Alana's songs:
"I want you to know
All you've been to me
And I know we must go
But always know in your heart
You'll always be part of me"
