I wrote a pop song for a friend, based on events witnessed by me. Thought I'd share.

Without The Cookies

VERSE

Started my December with a special pair of cookies,

That no one really loves for how they taste.

Strange how feelings change because you ate a pair of cookies.

We didn’t let those feelings go to waste.

That is pretty much amazing and incredibly well written.
If you don't already, you should write more. I guess I don't know if you do.
Anyway, that pretty much made my day.
You rock.

"based on events witnessed by me"
Hm.
Do tell.

I enjoyed it immensely. It was chewy, in a really good way.

Well, I was the friend sleeping on the floor, but I wasn't sleeping. I was watching, and so awestruck by the events that I couldn't talk, so I waited until the next day and I writed.

What we were doing

Was wild, alive and artistic.

Let’s call it baking.

In middle school, my friends and I used code when we talked about gossipy shit like kissing and whatnot...
we called making out, "baking cookies"

you make my heart smile.

From an old entry of mine.
"We started getting ready to "bake". He took off his "apron". I took off mine. We "kissed" for a while, and then he began to "prepare" my "ingredients". Needless to say, my "oven" "preheated" very quickly. His was already hot. Then, he guided my hand to his "ingredients". I don't know how he planned to "mix" all of my "dough" with such a small "spoon". I decided that, perhaps, we'd better not finish "baking". I still wanted to "make the icing", though.

Sometimes, you don't need "cake". Very often, the icing on the cake is enough. After all, after the cake is gone, the taste you really remember is the icing. It's always the best part; that's why everyone wants the corner piece, even though it's your birthday."
