so here I am thinking all of my BC student loan is paid off. I had signed into the web, wrote a cheque for the amount indicated on my account, mailed it in and voila. done, right

Yeah I got duped by that too. Stupid "the above amount does not reflect any accumulated interest, but only the principle balance" disclaimer. Who reads that stuff?
I don't see why it'd be so hard for them to display the ACTUAL amount you owe, in the box that claims to be "total amount you owe". But no, that would make too much sense. :)

bah. oh well, hopefully I'll never have to deal with them again. Though I hear tell that National Student Loans are just as bad or worse to deal with.... *sigh*
