It's getting panned by the critics. I think the general summary of the response is: "Oh, a tool to let you share text and files? Yes, I've got one of those. It's called the Internet!"

Combine it with the file size limits (10Mb and they're touting video sharing? WTF?) and I think they're going to die before all the good nicks get "pownced" on...

I think they are aiming it at the phonecam/txtr market - kind of twitter with added bits - it's early days yet... besides, my old cynic friend, I doubt you or the IT literate are in their target market ;-)

Well, Actually the main target market for this is the OCD/Early-adopter groups.

This site is pretty young so far, and is only taking off like it is because of the close relationship to Digg (large portions of the Digg community are there already).

As a security geek, I am particularly fond of the friends features (they need some work, but at least you can do group posts).

early adopters right now but what about in the long run... if the pownce guys want to be around in the long run they will have a long term target market in mind.
