Decision made

OK, so finally made a decision: I'm going to attend UC Santa Barbara next year. There are no jobs possible in my situation (believe me, I tried), so I have to take the first year below the belt and expend all of my savings from this year. And hope for some income or funding the following year

You are absolutely right! I'm encouraged to read that you'll be at UCSB and I look forward to reading about what you will inevitably unearth while you're there.
