No Harry Potter for me until my half-day off tomorrow. But I am actually enjoying maskmaking again. Especially in my shiny, clean studio

Thank you, I look forward to seeing it! Your last card was lovely.
Still not sure if I will be organized enough (or rather, have time) to make custom cards this year. I usually plan to do something special, then at the last minute I realize I have run out of time, so I go and buy some boring cards from the store. Then I then find them so uninspiring that I still don't get around to sending them to anyone. :/
Ugh, that's horrible, I hope your friend isn't too stressed out about it. But I'm really sad to hear that the police are still so strung out, I wanted to imagine that the worst of that was over by now.
Still, come Mardi gras time, I imagine they are going to have to bring cops in from all over the South just to keep things organized. And cops know better than to be beating up kids and parents watching parades (as opposed to say, political demonstrations). Also, during Mardi Gras, the nation's spotlight is on New Orleans, and the last thing they want to do is to scare away their tourism, which is hurting plenty enough already.
You got an order for 150 masks? That's brilliant - goodness, well done! AND it sounds like you've got it organised too.
I would love an order for 150 of our carpet bags (er, well, no perhaps not as in fact finding the carpet isn't that easy). Ah well, one day... Meantime I'm loving making them - I've wanted a carpet bag all my life and never had one before - too silly.
I hope Mardi Gras goes off well - one of my best friends here is from NO - so I've heard all about it and seen many, many pictures. It would be great to see the city recover and party again.
Yes, 150 masks! (Gulp!) And right on the tail of a 50 mask order, another 20 mask order (some of them consignment though) for a Halloween/Fall themed fashion show, and of course those 100 unfinished masks for the film project. And Halloween. (I think I need some time off

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying it. I don't make nearly as many masks as you, of course...really only a few a month...but I make them more for my own enjoyment and have only recently started trying to sell them through local shops and once through e-bay. Sometimes I find it getting a little tedious...but otherwise, I tend to get very excited over a design...a little slow in the process of making the actual mask, but again excited as I close in on finishing it...'cause I'm never quite sure how they'll turn out, either.
I'm happy to hear that you'll be going down to New Orleans. I hope you enjoy yourself and get a little business at the same time:) And I'm glad to hear that the lady and her children are well:)
