The way we are treated after the light is taken from us… Like monsters. Like freaks. Like something less than human. They scream and run and they even strike out at us, killing us out of fear. As though we don’t already hate ourselves more than they could ever hate us. We rage, rage against the dying of our light and crawl towards whatever light we can find. And always we are turned away.
And so we band together, lose our humanity and our memories until we’re nothing more than yellow eyes glowing in the dark. Looking for light.
