My birthday is this Friday and I am partaking in my first *eeeep* tattoo. Since this is one of the decisions I should make on my own, (hey it's going to be on my body foreverever) OF COURSE I am going to ask friends/strangers/teh internets for help/ideas.

I think beak up for sure. I don't know about the music notes though..anyway you get it you will still look amazingly beautifully to me:)

positioning/angle: closer to the second position, but definitely angled up. In fact, try to angle it so the curve of the bird's back/tail follows the same line as the curve of your shoulder (but you don't need to move it closer to your shoulder - it will look better with a bit of space between). This way you get some nice natural-seeming lines.

music notes: i think music notes would be a plus. You can always hold off and go back and add them if you are not sure.

THANK YOU for a constructive answer. So far all I have gotten is "Don't do it" "It looks like the twitter bird" or "If you ever want to go into porn then they frown upon tattoos" (<-WAT?! why would I be doing porn?)

And yes I see what you mean about tilting it up to follow the curve. I didn't think about moving it out a little more but that is a good idea :)
