2008 Election

Scenario 1: Clinton VS. McCain. McCain easily takes the presidency.
Scenario 2: Obama VS. McCain. Something big and controversial happen, most likely concerning foreign policy. McCain wins the presidency.

At this point I think the Republicans will win the election and the most likely chain of events will be scenario 2.

What makes you think McCain will win? I think people want to move away from a Republican presidency.

People want to move away from a Republican presidency only because of foreign policies. Now from politicians point of view say if something were to happen that would induce fear among the public, the Republican party can use it to their advantage. McCain has the most experience in that department. Still, there's too much split in the Democratic party...too many attacks between Obama and Clinton that McCain doesn't have to worry about. The last thing is of course the unprecedented woman or black president. I know that everything about equal rights among sexes and races is out there but.... Who knows?

So there's a split right now between Obama and Clinton. There's going to be. It's politics. It's dirty. They're vying to be the Democratic nominee. What? Do you think that if Obama wins the nomination, that those who voted for Clinton will then vote for McCain? Or vice versa? No, they'll support the fellow Democrat. I think whoever wins the nomination is going to have a good chance against McCain.

I saw a reputable poll that said 1 in 5 democrats say that if their candidate does not win the nomination, they would vote for McCain.

McCain is such an independent maverick, to the dismay of the republicans, which ironically puts the Republicans in a good spot to win the Presidency even though it should have been an easy democratic year.
