People change. Not in major jumps from here to there like we all see. It's those small changes we didn't catch that all jump out at once. The thing is, it's the same person, just with a handful of differences.

For example, love is a very subjective thing. How could you know her love was THE love? Marriage happens kinda fast too, easy to forget. Then again, intense medical schooling seemed noticable, but also added in the time spent apart.

I don't mean to be such an asshole, so I will pull a "Nicole" and start again...

People change. It's easy to take things for granted, and it's even easier to say someone else has changed. To be honest, they haven't changed any more than you have - sometimes you need to give up on a friendship. It can die. The trick is being able to let go, so the new you can befriend the new her.
