LinuxFest/WWDC08/Squirrels!

Well, I cruised up to Bellingham today to check out the LinuxFest. I ended up standing behind krow in the last part of a lecture on cloud development. I was laughing inside, because he was on a MacBook. Attended two talks and politely sat through them. Both were not really on-topic. Did you get to talk to krow any? It's not clear from your remarks whether y'all are previously acquainted. He's a character. (in a good way)

Would you actually gain anything in the way of professional development from going to WWDC? Not saying that's the determining factor, just wondering about the upside on that front. If that would count as a fun vacation for you, that would be an okay reason, too. =)

No, I don't know krow personally, never been introduced. And I didn't talk to him. Partly due to feeling non-social from my tendon issue.

As for WWDC, it would directly apply to my work @ the school if I decide to stay on. Depends on next years salary negotiations. And I would get to see all the hype on iPhone development as well ( and it's paid for, and it's San Francisco ). Pretty much a no-brainer I think. I would get to check out the DNA Lounge for one. >:]~

Why is krow's use of a MacBook humorous? I don't see it. He's been using one for several years from what I can remember.

More of a general amusement of being at a LinuxFest and seeing people running OS's that are not Linux. That's all.
