It wasn't a bad idea in say the 1800s... I suppose I can understand a chaperoning presence, but I at least am of the opinion that you really ought to get to know somebody well before marriage comes into the picture, not vice versa.

Oh well... At least you'll get to leave home eventually, right?

It might be a bit till I can move out though, since I'm behind in high school and I've got to finish it soon. If I'm extremely lucky, I'll graduate next year.

I have a friend who believes that she can't date a boy until she's already married to him, so it could be worse?

I really disagree with this policy, though, because A) it takes away your choice to an extent, and B) what if that guy acts good around your chaperon but is actually a wife beater? (although given your dad's stance on wife beaters...)

But yeah, I'm of the opinion that dating is better than courting.

Yeah, I'll probably wait to even consider it till I've moved out of the house.
