Title: the road that leads us there Rating: r Word count: 8580 Summary: To fix their ailing relationship, Sunggyu and Woohyun rent a car and drive across the breadth of America.
i like to think that while the ending isn't happy, it isn't actually sad. reifica wanted a story wherein two people realize that they aren't right for one another and the world doesn't end. love isn't everything. often it feels like it is, but it isn't. there's still the rest of the world!
so thank you. may you have a happy valentine's day, regardless of whether or not you are celebrating a romantic love.
That ending was terribly painful. Terribly, terribly painful. I'm not sure I can compose myself enough to leave a lengthy, well-worded comment at the moment.
... But can I just say I absolutely adore how your characterized Sunggyu in this? Woohyun reminds me of the audience, in the sense that he's trying to figure out Sunggyu just as much as we are. It’s helped blunt the unrelenting edges of his ambition. thank you. and that is a very lovely point that you mention. i must again thank you for all of your insightful comments.
travelogues are usually narratives of self-discovery. i had hoped that a road spanning the breadth of the united states, a road that exists essentially in memory more than in actuality, would be an appropriate background for woohyun's moment of acceptance.

Your works amaze me, all of them, and this one isn't an exception. I love the characterisation, the building up of the plot, everything, tbh. And the ending :c :c Oh dear. A beautiful read. Ah, also, Happy Valentines Day! ♥
