Technically you're at the age where growing up isn't a problem, as you're moving more towards the growing down/shrinking portion of it. :)

I'm sorry you couldn't fly a plane. :( Have you considered LASIK? Would that help your vision?

LASIK wasn't around back then, and I'm not totally sure what the rules on it are now.
