Lipcolor: what i'm assuming is a first of many.

Lipstuff. I used to own a disturbing amount of it, which I've got more under control now. But it seems like its a very popular thing to go overboard buying. And I thought about that, really gave it some thought, and I realized its pretty simple.

Its the easiest.

Whether its lipstain, lipbalm, lipgloss, or plain old lipstick, the colors are fun and ( Read more... )

I am absolute crap at lips. Partly because mine are relatively small, and partly because my eyes are usually too heavy for a strong lip so I don't get a lot of practice with color. But I buy one mid-March every year in homage to spring break. I did have a Buxom that I liked pretty well, I think Katie. I would definitely try the NYC violet shine. <3

if you do strong eyes a lot you'll probably love the violet shine! its a very soft color, i've definitely worn it with heavier eye makeup. :D

ETA: also, if you feel like your lips are tiny you might throw a clear gloss over any lipcolor you apply, or just go for tinted lip glosses. Shine definitely makes the lips look fuller. the Buxom gloss is great for that actually.

Wish I could use Burt's, but they use soy as a base in SO MANY of their products that it's not worth it for me to risk it. Stupid allergies...

And ha, I should really branch out more in my lip collection. I really only have two colors I use! Good to hear about the NYC stuff. I wasn't impressed with their stain, but I'll try the lipstick. ^_^

bummer. If i ever find something similar that has no soy I will tell you!

For a $1 lipstick its pretty great stuff. i want to try some drugstore glosses to review too, I realized most of the gloss i have currently is either dept. store, sephora or avon.

Oh! Dude, that reminds me. The Avon store on Cortelyou is having some kind of insane sale. It's a little janky, I don't know what kind of stuff they have, but I know you like their product, so I thought I'd give you a heads up. ^_^

I think lip products are my favorite b/c they're so instantly gratifying and so easy. A swipe of a bright color can give an instant boost to the complexion!

I haven't tried the NYC lip colors but I keep eyeing them at the drugstore. I might have to take the plunge now!

I do love Buxom glosses! I have 2 -- Candi (my favorite lip gloss ever) and Betty (gorgeous sheer berry-red). I really love their formulas and while a bit spendy, you get a LOT of gloss so it's cost-effective for me.

And Burt's Bees? Yes plz. I need that tingle, that's how I know it's working.
