something tells me i've used that line before. probably for exactly the same reason i'm using it today. playoff season is here. hockey teams are winding up the regular season and gearing up for the post season -- and i'm preparing in my own way by mocking up my own little stanley cup.

i don't know the specifics of it, but for march madness i saw some people keeping track of things with yahoo groups. i didn't participate so i can't tell you how well it worked or how easy it was to maintain but i guess it's something you could look into. good luck with your post season btw.

yeah, there are online hockey pools that i could use, and not have to maintain, but they're all really complicated. they're like fantasy hockey leagues where you have to pick players and lineups and ... yeah, that's too much trouble. i want something with a low threshold to entry (like march madness) so that people will participate.

the first time i did it, there was a website that ran a really simple style where you just number the teams 1-16 and get points based on how many games they win. unfortunately that site went away, so now i just build a spreadsheet that calculates for me. I just wish that i had a site where i could post an updated results page every day.

this might call for a new blog.
