Earlier this month, the university admins announced that they were cutting back on languages, which jeopardized the degrees of people taking or interested in German, French, Spanish and Cree. Rumour is that the admins want to cut back on the Arts, Music and Languages in order to put up a slew of new buildings in the Med Sciences wing and for repairs in general. The repairs I have no problem with, but seeing as a majority of people need to take Arts and Languages in order to have enough credits to get a major in Med proper, *and* that a healthy amount of their money is coming from people who have/are majoring in the abovementioned three... It's such a ridiculous thing, and I'm far from being the only one who won't stand for anyone being compromised by this.
