I did it - I bought a pair of glasses

Well, I finally picked out a pair at Lenscrafters.

They are Adrienne Vittadini and ridiculously expensive. The frames are plastic, rectangular, and bright red with yellow bits. I was torn between that pair and a dark brown wire one which also looked good, albeit conservative. I wasn't sure about the red, but when I put them on they were kind of flattering to my skin tone. Brown is nice too, but the black frames tended to make me look drab for some reason. It's too bad because I kinda wanted black frames. The red frames remind me of Sally Jesse Raphael which bothers me a bit.  She was known for her "sassy" red frames. My face still looks gigantic in them, though. Like Jabba the Hut. However, they reassured me that I can return them within 30 days and exchange them for another pair at no cost. So we'll see.  I only received a 40% discount on the frames and lenses.  I STILL had to pay $200.  WTF?  How can glasses cost this much?  The next time I get insurance, I'm gonna make sure I get a decent eyecare plan.

If anyone is curious, my prescription is: 0 for nearsightedness and 0 for farsightedness (I have neither), and -0.5 in each eye for astigmatism. I guess that's not too bad?

Most of the plastic ones didn't fit right because I don't have much of a bridge on my nose, but these seemed to feel ok. They are cute and very bright, so I can find them on my desk. I probably should have gotten the "normal" and professional looking brown ones though. *sigh* I keep second guessing myself. I'll pick them up tomorrow and take a pic and get everyone's opinion.
