I agree with both of you to a certain extent. I live in a little country town that is 60% black, 15% hispanic, 20% white and 5% other. Racism here on all sides of the tracks abound more than you could prob imagine. The general rule is the black's hate the whites, the white hate the blacks, and the hispanics just about hate everyone including other hispanics. There are some exceptions, but like I said that is the general rule. I have seen the whites think that blacks owe them something for common day racism and I have seen the blacks think that the whites think they owe them something for past racism. The hispanics usually think that since this area used to be mexico, that we owe them the most since we "took" their land. Personally I think that Racism has just gotten out of hand on all levels and that we all just need to get over all our past inequalities and learn to live with what we have today and deal with the fact that it is getting ALL of us no where. I have had several people tell me that because I am white I don't know what

Well I have an area at the very end of my building that is occupied by...four or five Hispanic families? I sit and watch them and talk to them and am even friends with one of two of them. (there are at least 2-5 of them down there out in the front yard at any given time.) Its really hard to understand it, sometimes... how they can fight with each other so much and just be over it the next time I see them... they don't DO anything...per-se...to make up...they are just...done fighting...or something...
I have a bit of Native American (Cheroke) in my blood although my skin is white. something to take into consideration...
and my ancestors on my mother's side came from Scotland and England. I also have ancestors from Ireland (and you know how the Irish were treated...for all I know I might have HAD ancestors that were slaves.) I am directly related to Olaf the Terrible. He was a Viking :D
Never judge a book by its cover. I am a Texan, born and raised here...in the country's cultural melting pot. My parents were born and were raised here...as were their parents... and before that the lines start to get fuzzy.
What pisses me off is that my being fair skinned automatically labels me...NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Its forming an opinion without getting any of the facts. Saves you a lot of time and energy, doesn't it? that and people that enforce racial stereotypes.
I'm sorry if someone has used your Native American, Scottish, English or Irish heritage against you in an argument or racial stereotyped because of your background...but its a serious thing for some when they can't drive in nice cars without being pulled over or being constantly asked to see a ticket when they use the metrorail or are instantly followed on security cameras.
you need to point fingers at the people that enforce the racial stereotypes. They are the ones making the rest of their race look bad and the other races respond accordingly

still having problems reading the whole thing (I've been having trouble concentrating lately) but I know you know something about the whole Bill Cosby ordeal...what was that all about? I only heard bits and peices...

When was the last time someone walked up to a Caucasion person and asked them "So what part of Europe are you from"..."Oh I mean your parents?"
What happened to 40 acres and a mule?
