I'm a democrat and i don't see anything wrong with "one nation under God". In fact I think its a good thing. The nation was founded under religious freedom. While I could not care less personally, I respect everyones right to at least say thier piece and fight their battles.

However this:
In one shape or form we all believe in a god of some type......Even those of you who say you don't believe in anything, know there is something.

Is a horrible assumption, and very patronizing and very rude.

Listen...,

I just think the lawsuit is much ado about nothing. I personally could careless who or how many whom's you believe in. I already knew that the "under God" wasn't in there originally. I also know that in general everyone believes in something. Maybe that there isn't a god but that is still beliving in something. I don't really care if i was rude. I don't mind stepping on someones toes every now and again. Your opinion is fine, and thats all you but I don't find it "patronizing or rude". I simply find it the truth in how i see the world. If thats rude then so be it.

contradiction.
Being respectful of one's opinion does not include ripping them to shreds over it when they give it.
If you don't agree a simple "I disagree," generally works better than "You're an asshole because you have this opinion."

I understood what Andre meant.
We all believe in something. By using the term "god," he was simply personifying this something.
The something could be a scientific theory or simply a feeling that there is a higher power without knowing exactly what it is.
