First of, thank you all so much for your support after my incredibly difficult week. I'm so blessed to have all of you in my life. ::MASSIVE HUGS::
I just wanted to post about the perfect day I had yesterday :) In the morning, I had Supernatural coffee with the usual band of loveable crazies (that would be
ant3ka,
alcorandmizar, and
johnboy91719), and it was the first time we were all able to get together in a MONTH, so yeah, was truly great to see everyone and laugh and laugh and laugh :) After that, I went snowshoeing for the first time in two freaking years, and for the first time ever in my long history of snowshoeing, I had company :) My best friend
badger99 is currently the safekeeper of my sister's snowshoes and poles (since she doesn't really need them in El Paso, heh) and came along to learn how to snowshoe. It was the PERFECT day for it: we got six inches of fresh, powdery snow just one day before, and the skies were clear, brilliant blue and sunny. The only tiny drawback was that it was in the single digits, so my asthma kept us from staying out as long as we would've liked, but oh well--we were still out there for a good while, and it was just marvie :) Then last night, we just vegged at my place and watched some Community on DVD, and
nizi1077 joined us a little later on, and we laughed some more and drank some good wine and all was well. Plus I got great sleep last night! So all in all, a lovely day :)
A PJS for you before I head out: While we were snowshoeing, we saw this couple out in the middle of the field, shoveling. Just...shoveling. Not in a straight row, not piling it up to make a snow fort, just randomly shoveling. They were out there the whole time we were, and we could not figure out what the hell they were up to! Were they making some kind of design to be seen from above? Was it an exercise in existentialism? Did they just REALLY like to shovel? We were stumped. So on the walk back to the car, I happened to pass by the woman, who was taking a break, apparently, and as light conversation, I remarked that it was such a perfect day to be outside. And she replied, "Yeah, unless you're looking for your lost keys." Turns out they had been out there earlier with their dog, and they had lost their car keys, hence all the shoveling to try and find them. Ah-HAAAA! There's the lightbulb. Of course, Abs and I were still puzzled because no new snow was falling, so wouldn't it have made more sense to NOT disturb the snow further and just retrace your steps? I don't know. But I do hope they found their keys.
Off to write. Chootles!
