Weekend getaway [Sunday afternoon, for evilhandissue]

Beginning of the weekend is here, but be warned: thread is long and smutty. We don't normally smut, but figured we might as well let the pups have some fun just this once. *g*

When Lindsey had first suggested they go away for the weekend, Cordelia had been a little hesitant. Not because she didn't want to spend time with him, but because the whole idea of going away together, even if it was just to Malibu, seemed like a serious step for a relationship that was barely off the ground. But as it turned out, it was probably the best thing they could have done. Being away from everything let them be normal for a while and forget all the reasons they were destined to fail. They could worry about those later. For now, they were enjoying each other's company. Quite a lot, actually, which was a kind of surprise all on its own.

They'd toured a few houses on Saturday that Cordelia had wanted to see, but none of them struck her fancy. They were nice enough, and a few had really great views of the ocean, but nothing grabbed her enough that she felt she had to have it. The agent had mistakenly assumed they were looking for a house together, which had caused a little bit of awkwardness at first, but they got over it as the day went on and the agent finally stopped making little comments about lovenests and families. They'd then shared a romantic dinner in a little restaurant overlooking the ocean, watched the sunset together, and retired for the night to their hotel room, where they'd stayed up very late.

Sunday was for sleeping in and enjoying a nice breakfast in bed, but eventually, time caught up with them and it was time to start thinking about heading back to their respective homes and lives. Reluctantly, they checked out of the hotel and drove to the beach to spend the rest of the afternoon walking along the sand and talking, trying to make the most of the little time they had left together in the little world they'd managed to create there. Soon they'd be back in the real one, where there were vampires and teenagers and evil law firms all waiting to discover what they were up to. But for now, it was just them and the beach.
