You know, I thought this episode was really very smart and moving. I loved how Genne's advice went deep (way deeper than the advice columnists!) and kind of had an unexpected harm-reduction bent.
But your performance piece at the end was aMAzing. After starting things off with your heartbreaking story about D. (I had no idea the extent of the lying/cheating! Jesus!), it was some well-timed comic relief to end with such a hilarious response to the ridiculousness of your previous ex's financial demands and the savvy way you rolled w/it.
Plus, that Naima takes refuge in both Buffy and Love & Rockets made my heart swell in nerdy solidarity.
And I think all of my ex's and my arguments were really funny in hindsight, we were like what would happen if Statler and Waldorf were a genderqueer / high femme couple. Probably only appropriate that we broke up that way, too.

Bevin,
I followed you over here from our mutual friend Grover's lj, and just wanted to let you know that your podcast adds a little drop of sunshine to my nearly femme-community-free life here in Kentucky.

OMG Awesome!! This is exactly what I am trying to do--build community and reach people who don't have a tribe of awesome femmes 3.4 miles away. Can I use this praise on the website? I can either use your name or call it anonymous but I'd love to know if you ID as queer and fat as well.

Of course you can. My actual name is Fae, and I'm a queer femme...the fat part is kind of flexible (I have Crohn's disease, so I never know WHAT my weight is going to be in any given month). Currently I'm an inbetweenie.
