Does that mean that all of a Mormon's marriages are legally valid, or does it just mean that Mormons aren't persecuted for polygamy?

I don't know :/ Although, it'slsdfkljsfd GOD IT MAKES ME SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's none of the government's fucking business!! It's nobody's business but the people involved. By 'involved' I mean the people in the marriage.

Agreed!

Except, of course, society then goes on to blame the government and demand a ruling on the stupid messes they get into.

The government is, after all, made up of the people they represent. Possibly not completely, but enough to reflect our failures and foibles back at us.
