Oh well I suppose at somepoint someone will give me a decent salary, but this is pretty ludicrous. It's hard to feel sorry for hedge fund managers as they aren't even really creating anything so the creative capitalism arguments fall flat as what do they bring that is new to society except death to slow running businessess?
We seem to define, the "creative class" a little too broadly as this sure ain't bringing us new innovations. In fact I would say that we've been 'innovation slow' comparatively to how much talent is out there. We're more in a monopolistic phase, in the areas which count, such as capitial distribution.
Yeah most people I know share that same view for the most part. I mean everyone bitches about taxes, but most of them like what they get for it. I do kind of mind paying taxes somewhat to the state government as it is a bit despotic at times. I would feel better if some of the idealogues were voted out of office. I like our governor though. I just wish he didn't have to work with the house of delegates. Some of them are ok but some of them are so idealogically pure. I think some developers got themselves into office and they feel they should be able to sell expensive houses and not put any money into roads or schools.
In what capacity? That would be kind of interesting. Oh and one thing I noticed is that its ussually not the people who make trends who are uber-creepy, but the people who need to ride out the loopholes. As if you are naturally brilliant, you don't have to screw as many people over to get to the top.
People who are just important, but career important, tend actually to be pretty moderate at times. I've found talented people (as opposed to the people who just work really hard) fall more in this category.
