Iran's changing... just look at the statistics!

Nov 28, 2007 12:37

Anyone else find it interesting that Iran's age structure is significantly different then it was 7 years ago? Iran's population growth rate (.663%) is slower then it is in the United States (.894%). They are barely replacing themselves, in the future, all the women who aren't having children either will have a baby boom or the country population ( Read more... )

with age comes wisdom, we hope, for everyone. Even the USA.

If we follow that line of thinking, Iraq is increasing in wisdom a lot quicker then the USA. Again, we hope.

I suppose. I think with age comes misunderstanding. Iraq's median age is almost 17 years lower then ours but it has risen about a year since I forget if it was 2000 or 2003. I got separate stats on Iraq and would have to look it up. Iraq's median age used to be 19, now it's 20.

Our median age is 36.7 years old. In the UK it's 39, and I believe the median in Germany is 43 years old. I think that is why we are too flighty for Europe and considered slightly bulky for the developing world.

Whoa. A blender. That's what I want for Christmas. I was researching yesterday, gonna plead and pester my parents. Heh.

What do you usually put in your smoothies?

Oh i've only made one so far but i bought some non-processed peanut butter to try and make some more drinks. I'm trying to decide what i need. The one I did make was frozen blueberries, raspberries, peaches, chocholate protein (whey) powder, and whole foods fat free plain yogurt. The whey powder and rasberrry/berry taste worked well together as it came out with just a hint of chocolate, so it tasted complex.

I bought some cranberries today to make another smoothie at some point. I got a fairly good deal at Walgreens across from GMU. It is a new store and they might be still having sales for awhile as they try to get new customers in there. But I got a blender/ food processor combo pack which uses the same moter for both functions. It is 500 Watts and comes with a 2 year warrenty. I paid $30 for it and there is a $10 rebate. I don't know if other Walgreens are having the same sales or if this is still related to its opening, this is a brand new store and otherwise i am fairly unfamiliar with Walgreens.

I don't think I've tried peanut butter in a smoothie, but I like frozen berries. They do go well with protein powder, yogurt, etc. I've had frozen blueberries in my freezer all semester. I think they need a blender. Is your blender loud or quiet? I'm thinking quiet would be good for me, that way I could make smoothies at 3 am as the whim suits me without worrying about giving my neighbors a heart attack (or getting evicted).

I think it is about normal but not too loud. If you want you can see it when you get back in a few weeks and decide if you think it is a good fit for your place. (I can do a test smoothie run if you want to hear how loud it is for instance). I haven't been particularly bothered by its sound. It has a 500 watt motor, I think its on the more powerful end for home blenders. It also has a food processor section but i haven't used that yet.
