I think some of the most fun pictures are of things like this gas pump. Makes me think about its past a bit. I totally understand what you mean in regards to angsty youth. I was listening to Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr screaming out a car window. Now, I just love it because I love it. Music is so deeply entrenched in me that I hardly know what I'd do without it. Haha, its so bad that I hear guitar rifts in my head and have to get up sometimes and play them because otherwise I'll never fall asleep!
I know what you mean. But its just funny how for a long time I've associated that particular band with the bad times I had in high school. All of those horrible emotions. But I am very self aware and I know how and why those emotions have backflipped now. Argh I am philos-babbling again.

Yeah I totally understand and agree. Siamese Dream was an album I listened to a lot during a lot of angsty times. I can now listen to it in a different light, but it still does make me feel nostaglic, but in a good positive way
Nostalgia is beautiful. There is something so special about the way some things can make us feel. Everytime I hear the song 'Black Hole Sun' I just smile and remember sneaking out of bed to watch MTV's Alternative Nation...huddled in front of my parent's small television with the sound down as not to wake them...whispered excitement over the telephone as a friend and I watched each video together...critiquing them intensely guessing who would be the next big thing...and often being right. I will admit though...everytime I hear 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' I still feel angsty! :)
Ok now you are freaking me out...I am currently listening to Bullet with butterfly wings for the first time in months...hmmm..STOP STALKING ME MISS HOOTEN! ;)
Hahah. It was funny, I was walking past them and I said to my friend, I wanna take a photo of these cos they are old and cool. So I did. Um but nature will have to take the credit for the light - I just pointed and shooted. It was about 3pm. And its this really cool old school garage in this little sleepy touristy town up in the hills near where I live.
And funny you should mention Siamese again - I have it on now, and for the first time in years, I just played that lil opening riff from "Today" on the guitar. I remember how obsessed I was with that song and that riff. I used to play it over and over. I also remember how much that album meant to me. I used to listen to it on my walkman walking home from school and I would sing it out loud and not care what people thought of me. I mean they already thought I was a freak anyway. But it is just such a great uplifting album now. *SIGH*
