RP log with Zaj

Queen: *it was a bit early for dinner but as she was hungry, she made her way to the cafe to get something to eat; seeing Zaj reading at one of the tables, she heads on over* Looks like you've already settled in quite nicely.

Zaj: *look up when he hears her, and answers with a smile* Yes, the people here are very nice... *he puts the book down and takes another gump of his coffee*

Queen: For the most part, they are. *she smirks as she cocks her head a little* Mind if I join you for a bit? I'm about to get something to eat.

Zaj: Of course. *stands up and pulls out a chair for her at the other side of the table*

Queen: *raises an impressed eyebrow* My, and you're quite the gentleman. Thank you. *takes a seat, resting both elbows on the table and placing her chin on top of her folded hands* A shame more men can't be like you. *smirks* So what is this gentleman reading there? Anything interesting?

Zaj: I was raised to have manners, it comes naturally. and you're welcome. *smiles again before taking his seat once more* Oh nothing much, just some history, since aparently I skipped nearly two decades of time... *shakes his head* it's rather disorentating.

Queen: *blinks* Ah, so you were also thrust forward in time. I still don't understand that phenomenon myself. I can only imagine just how disorienting it is since I am from this era myself.

Zaj: Well I know my surroundings at least. Its just major events I'm rather behind on...

Queen: Heh, I bet. Well, some of us here fought in the second Firebringer war six or so years ago, managing to drive out Harmonia from the Grasslands for the time being. That's as up to date as you'll get as far as national events are concerned.

Zaj: Yes so I'm finding out... Damn Harmonians always finding one stupid reason or another to go to war...

Queen: Isn't that the truth? But oh well. So long as they keep away, I'll be content. *thanks the waiter when he returns with her food* Well, Zaj. You're a long way from home and are here for the time being. Tell me some other things about yourself.

Zaj: Oh there's not much to tell really. I am what you see... Just a third class citizen trying to make a life for himself...

Queen: Well, you're no longer in Harmonia so he can make what you want of yourself. And do as you please without answering to a master. *smirks* Isn't that exciting?

Zaj: *answers the smirk with one of his own* Oh very much so. It's good to be bound by nothing.

Queen: *as she's enjoying her dinner* Well, do enjoy it. I know I enjoy my freedom very much.

Zaj: It is a little daunting though. I really have no idea what to do from here on out...

Queen: I'm sure you'll figure it out. There's a quest guild here for anyone who needs an odd job or is simply bored out of his mind. And hell, if you're interested in mercenary work, I can introduce you to my former captain.

Queen: And you know what? I haven't even given you my name. *shakes her head* I go by Queen.

Zaj: Oh well if there's a guild I'm sure I'll get by. *smiles again* It's a pleasure to meet you Queen~ I'm Zaj.

Queen: The pleasure is all mine. And if are in need of anything, especially good social interaction, let me know. I'd be happy to introduce you to some people here. After all, I'm sure you haven't run into anyone you already know, right?

Zaj: I may take you up on that offer. You're right there is no one here that I know. Though I wouldn't be surprised if I did find someone I recognise, there's alot of people living here.

Queen: *is wondering why he's keeping Nash a secret; unless he wasn't aware Nash is there* True. And if that's the case, so much the better for you. It's always nice to find someone you know.

Zaj: *doesn't exactly want to drag up the fact he's bitter enemies with Nash to a stranger =D* Well here's hoping it's someone I liked and not some stuck up first-class~

Queen: Heh, well, if it's any help, there really aren't that many Harmonians here. So I'm sure you'd be able to avoid the first-class snobs with no problem.

Zaj: Well I did hear some about Harmonian merchants that were coming here... I wonder what that's about.

Queen: I have no idea. But I suppose we'll find out soon enough. *pauses as something comes to mind and she frowns deeply* Unless ...

Zaj: hmm... unless...?

Queen: *shakes her head* No, it's nothing. I don't want to make presumptions too soon ...

Zaj: It's still good to know what others may think though... I'm rather confused myself. Why would they come so far away from their own land?
Queen: There are few things that pique their interest so there's a guess there. They didn't conquer Sanadia simply for land. And they didn't try to invade the Grasslands again because they enjoy their cooking.

Zaj: Heh. Natuarlly... You mean to say there's a True Rune here...?

Queen: *shrugs* It's a possibility. Unless something else that I'm not aware of has captured their attention.

Zaj: Well thats enlightening. I wonder who told them...

Queen: *narrows her eyes* Who the hell knows. *sighs and shakes her head* Sorry. Harmonia is the absolute least pleasant topic of conversation to have. There's no reason to make a perfectly fine day sour.

Zaj: Yes I agree. Sorry. Here's hoping nothing bad happens...

Queen: *smirks* Indeed.
