According to this video that went unavailable literally the same minute that I tried to post it on my blog--which would trouble me if I were the kind of person who was inclined to paranoia--the Mueller investigation could go on for another year, and as much as I admire their diligence, I must admit that, on hearing the news, I was filled with ( Read more... )

You're fighting the good fight, my friend. I can't even watch the news or keep up with politics anymore, it's my way of protecting my sanity.

I'm hoping the conclusion to this fiasco comes a lot sooner than a year from now, then we can begin the process of cleaning up the mess and trying to heal.

Of course, the thought occurs to me that the length of the investigation isn't necessarily tied to the length of the presidency. In other words, the presidency could be over by spring, but if the investigation hasn't reached a conclusion yet, it could still be ongoing.

Anyway, thank you for the encouragement, Emily. It is my intention to eventually follow you and Iris over to Dreamwidth, but I haven't gotten around to it yet because right now I'm more occupied with my Muppet blog that I started approximately six months ago (after thinking about it for four years).

A Muppet blog might seem like a frivolous thing at the moment, but I started it in large part to speak out against a particular injustice. So the way I see it, I'm fighting the good fight on multiple fronts.

I don't think a Muppet blog is frivolous at all. As you say, it's about fighting injustice wherever you can; also, whatever keeps us sane in these tumultuous times is worth preserving. I follow someone on Twitter who posts regularly about her rather-inept pets, seed catalogs, and random weird facts about gardening, and it's a bright spot in my daily routine. Anything that brings joy is worth celebrating.

Hey Emily, I don't know if you're aware of this, but I thought you'd be interested to know that Frank Oz is doing a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" on January 4th at 6:00 p.m. Eastern.

I want to help get the word out, but I think my Muppet blog readers are already well aware of it. It's likely no one (else) will see it on this blog until after the fact, but it's worth trying anyway.
