The last superhero comic I read was All-Star Superman. The sad part about this is this isn't the worst thing Marvel has ever done to Spidey.

I was all set to say "this means that 'Peter' and Mary Jane will be getting back together because DRAMA" until the kiss. Now... well, Peter will be coming back somehow and wind up married again. Because why not.

That was a good read, and I appreciate your passion. That said, I also don't think that Marvel is trying to push the idea that Otto has "earned" being Spider-Man. I think the point of this comic was very much that, despite Otto now taking the identity and role of Spider-Man in the 616 Marvel universe, Peter Parker is still at the core of everything that truly makes Spider-Man the hero that he is, and that, although he had all of the powers, memories, and status that Peter had, it wasn't until he was forced to accept Peter's sense of responsibility (his "soul" if you will), that he understood what it meant to be Spider-Man. And just because he understands it, doesn't mean that he has earned it, but it does mean that he can (and probably will) at least act in order to retroactively earn his position, which is the best he can do given his situation ( ... )

Okay. I've a lot of things to say on this subject, and being a big MoF fan and sometimes art contributor, this is as good a place as any ( ... )

Why are they bound and determined to ruin Spider-Man?! I mean, this makes no sense. I understand trying to add freshness to a 50 year old character, but there has to be better ways to do it.

But, hopefully they'll YET AGAIN reboot continuity and start all over again.

Meanwhile, I shall return to Batman...
