Walmart and I have bonded. It's close, convenient, and fairly decent on prices for products. Anyone who shops there is used to the greeters. They usually nod, sometimes even help you secure a buggy, and frequently ask to check your receipt on the way out the door. I, along with most of the general public, smile and hand the receipt over. 20M is lawyer manuevers...it'll shake out..the main thing is it will hold Hamilton Co./Chattanooga accountable. There have been too many policeman the last few years involved in activities for which the public is shielded from. They close ranks instead of letting it go thru the system like the regular folks. My opinion only...!

Detective Freeman severely overreacted and should not have used physical force. However, the greeter, kindly old gent though he may be, shouldn't have touched/grabbed his arm. Receipt checks are completely voluntary, every customer has the right to decide whether or not to participate. Greeters are in danger of breaking the law if they physically stop you from leaving because you don't feel like having your bags pawed through.

Even if the contact was more innocent than a grab, say a soft touch, it still shows a tremendous lack of people skills. If you can't get my attention without getting all handsy, then sorry, bub, you don't belong in customer service.

And that failure of 'people skills' warrants a knock to the floor of an old man? C'mon...make a complaint to the manager, do something that shows some sort of class or intelligence before you shove somebody down.

I have a healthy respect for what our law enforcement officers do to keep the peace and protect us. But, enforcing the law shouldn't mean above the law. I imagine Freeman is a bully and control freak who has no respect for the any citizen he serves to protect. Get an attitude adjustment Freeman or get another line of work.
