Writing People's Backstories

So I'm typing this up from my seat on the train headed back to Yale - I've just pulled out of Lima Station, and I can sort of see Sam standing on the platform, even though he's just a speck now. She's totally scowling because whoever's romance story she's reading doesn't have a cool twist in it. Like...Superman appearing out of nowhere to prevent a meteorite from hitting the couple. The woman would have been so overwhelmed with gratitude that she would have run off with Superman, leaving Lois Lane to fend for herself.

...I clearly am a genius and should be a writer instead of a senior in high school. People only wish they had as good of ideas as I do.

Why can't you be a writer and a senior in high school? I think you could pull off both with style.

Only you would think that the cool twist in the story would be about a superhero. How about the girl saving the guy for a change? ;)
