so glad i stayed up to read this. even though the subject matter was serious, the way you wrote the characters was just so comfortable and the dialogue felt right. the progression of kris and adams relationship also felt very natural.
i really enjoyed this! (i wish i could say more, but it's almost 5 in the AM and my words just refuse to be coherent). thanks for a great story. *memories*
oh i forgot to say, i think you handled matt's problem well. everyone has friends that mean well and want to help, but not everyone has a friend that understand what it's really like and call them out on their shit.
Thank you so much! As much as Matt's OD was very much a catalyst for bringing Adam and Kris back together, it was also a very important part of the story in its own right and I'm really glad you felt it was handled well.
I adore this one. I love how a lot of things come at once- a friend overdoses, people reconnect, people fall in love even if it's a pretty shitty time-like it does in real life. I love how the top ten makes appearances in different ways and shows them trying to make time within their lives, as opposed to a mob of people coming to the aid of a friend, which is idealistic, but not what happens. I also love the way issues were laced inside of it, like Matt's drug use, Kris having kids and trying to figure out how to manage a past relationship with Katy while trying to make a new one with Adam, and Adam's attempt to help out while doubting himself. Oh, and the conversation with Neil was awesome. Basically, I love it :) I'm sorry for the novel about it lol.
Thank you so much! It was really important to me that somehow all of the top ten come together in this one, just not all at the same time or in the same ways. :) I just wanted the suggestion that years from now they'll still be weaving in an out of each other's lives. And definitely do not apologize for the "novel" XD I love it!
Lol, I was being ~sneeky and held back commenting on this though I read it last night, because I knew the guessing was going to start soon. I also just recced it tonight on my lj before checking at the Reveal.
I loved this fic. I love their friendship so, so much, and this just oozed with wonderful friendship. And I loved the maturity of it, the coming to terms with who they could maybe be to each other now. The handling of Matt's issues was masterful -- understated yet compelling.
I completely bought Kris and Katy's new relationship also, and loved thinking about Kris's kids, and Adam's relationship with them. The scenes at the restaurant were awesome. Hee, dates!! I just really enjoyed the whole thing so much -- thanks for a super satisfying read.<333
YOU ARE SNEEKY! I was counting on the fact that a lot of people hadn't read it before the reveal because it was long and posted near the end. XD
Thank you so much! As much as I love a good meet-and-fall-in-love romance - and believe me, I DO - I love writing these kinds of relationships too, ones that have all kinds of new and different challenges.
