it's over already??
This weekend was kind of crappy. It started out good ... Friday it stormed, so Matthew's game was canceled and I was able to start baking my cakes early. I got them all baked and made some icing. I attempted to make a fondant fairy for my friend's cake, but it was not cooperating.
Saturday I was up nice and early (9:30) to finish up the 2 cakes. The one for the surprise party came out really nice. The cake is cherry chip and the lady didn't want roses, so I made fondant flowers.
For Bree's cake I wanted something fun, colorful and springy ... the end result looked like a cake for a little kid! It was chocolate cake with mint choc. chip filling.
That evening Matt and I picked up Katie and Jon and went to dinner at Quaker Steak, followed by drinks at Amen. While I was up at the bar they decided that we needed to go down to Mountaineer to gamble. Neither Katie nor Jon had ever been to a casino or played slots at all. So even though I don't enjoy gambling, we headed down there. For a Saturday night they were not busy at all. Katie and I went to some nickle machines and played for a while. I really hate video slots, but that's all the nickle machines are. We stayed about 1.5 hours ... no one won anything big, but thanks to the nickle machines I was able to play the whole time with just $30 :) Katie has decided that she really doesn't like gambling either.
Sunday we all cleaned all day. Seriously that's all we did was clean.
Yesterday sucked big time. Matthew went to his grandparents' house to swim and Matt went out for a ride on his motorcycle. I finished a movie and waited for Matt to get back so that we could finish up cleaning the dining room. Yeah ... he was gone ALL DAY. At one point (about 6pm) he called me to come out to his aunt and uncle's house, but I hadn't showered and I was too mad at him to get motivated to shower. Both Matt's got home about 8:30pm. The dogs and I hardly left the couch all day. We watched lots of tv and some movies. It was such a wasted day off.
