Seeing London

Cordelia walked into the mansion, nostolgia hitting her full force from the strange times she'd seen the place. Luckily, she'd never been there often. It was kind of creepy. She wandered around inside, looking for signs of London. She saw in the garden that there were...somethings planted. The earth had been turned though nothing had sprouted yet. There were also a few dolls set up like they were having a chat. A light smile touched Cordy's lips at that. So child-like. She wandered through the rest of the mansion, wondering if maybe she'd missed the vampire girl. She peeked into one of the bedrooms and saw movement by the bedskirt. She frowned, and walked further into the room, kneeling down and pulling the bedskirt up. Underneath was London, looking scared.

"Are they gone?" she whispered.

"Are who gone?" Cordy whispered back.

"The...things...there were...I..." London trailed off, confusion clouding her eyes. "I'm sorry Cordy I don't remember." she said, sounding sad.

Poor thing. "No one's here but me, sweetie. Want to come out from under there? I came to visit you."

"Okay." London said, crawling out and sitting cross legged by Cordy. She immediately gave the other girl a big hug. "I missed you!" she said brightly, the fear from a moment ago completely gone.

Cordy blinked, but hugged her back, patting her on the shoulder. "I missed you too, London...whatcha been doin here?"

"I made flowers!" London said, pulling back and clapping. She gave Cordy her bright, child like smile. "They aren't flowers yet but I hope they will be tomorrow."

Cordy smiled. "Maybe they will be. C'mon. Let's get out of this dusty room." she said. She stood up and offered London her hand, which the vampire took, and they headed out. Cordy took them to the garden, since that was a nice place to be anyway. "A friend of mine might come to visit you soon." she said.

"Is it Buffy?" London asked. "I helped her the other...um...I helped!"

"Really? That's great, London. Helping is good. No, it's not Buffy, it's Angel. He's the one who's place this is."

London blinked and picked up one of her dolls, holding it protectively to her chest. "Oh..was he loud? There were people here before. They weren't here long but one of them was very loud."

"Loud? Probably not." Cordy said, not sure what the girl was referring to. "Angel's more...broody." she said.

"Oh. Well if she isn't loud, then okay."

"He."

"Really? But her name is Angel."

"Yep, but it's a boy." Cordy said. "Not that I'd...y'know, know, I haven't actually seen--" she paused, not really wanting to finish that statement. "It's a guy."

"Oh. Okay. Maybe it's just pretending to be a boy." London decided.

"You never know." Cordy smirked, shaking her head. "You can ask him when you meet him someday."

"Okay!" London said. "You have to go away." she said suddenly.

Cordy gave her a strange look. "You want me to leave? Was I...er...interrupting someting?" she asked.

"No! Not that!" London said, panicked. She grabbed Cordy's hand and held it between hers, cuddled to her chest with her doll. "You have...you have places you should go. And...and you don't belong here. You have someplace else to be." she looked about ready to burst into tears. "I don't want you to go though."

Cordy had to shift closer to London in order to be comfortable with her hand being held hostage. She was struck with the weirdness of it all. Jeeze. Her life was just one weird event after another, wasn't it? "I have to go back to England." she said. "Anya and I do. After that, I'll have to go back to L.A., yes. People there need me."

London sniffled and nodded. "I know. They do, too. There's...they need you. Yes." she looked back up, pale green eyes shiny with tears. "But you'll talk to me sometimes? You can come visit?"

"Of course." Cordy said, giving her a hug. Jeeze, it was like telling a little sister you were going away for college or something. A very strange sensation, but there none the less. "I'll visit, and I won't be leaving right away anyways, London. So you'll have me for a while yet."

That seemed to help calm London down. "Okay." she said in a small voice.

Then she kissed Cordy's cheek, which had the visionary blinking again. She wasn't sure what to do about that, so she just let it be. She pet London's hair lighly. "You know, you're really pretty all cleaned up." she commented. "You've got gorgeous hair. We should go shopping and get you some new clothes."

London looked up, excited. "Oh, really? Can I get a skirt?" she asked.

Cordelia laughed. "Sure. You can get more than one even. C'mon. Let's go find something that's still open. It's early, I'm sure there's something." She took London's hand, and led her out.
